Training for success in our
multicultural global society and world of business is the focus of the Marketing/Office
Technology program. Students learn Marketing as the process of planning, and
executing the conception, pricing, promotion, and distribution of ideas, goods, and
services to create exchanges that satisfy individual and organization objectives.
Students
will also be expected to develop the organizational and technical skills required to
operate an efficient office. Topics to be covered will include keyboarding,
Microsoft Office software (word processing and spreadsheet), multimedia research, use of
e-mail, Internet, Web browsers, calculators, filing and the use of proper business
communication skills including spelling, punctuation, grammar, and telephone techniques.
Juniors and Seniors will have the opportunity to
concentrate in a field such as office technology, entrepreneurship, or financial marketing
(focusing in the area of banking or stock market). Co-op release is available for
Marketing/Office Technology students in their Junior and Senior years where they gain
valuable on-the-job training in a related field in preparation for college or the world of
work. Three college credits are also available to Marketing graduates through the
Tech Prep program.
