Overview
This technical
program prepares students for
A+ Computer
Certification,
Network+
Certification,
Cisco CCNA Certification, and
MCDST
Certification. Students will actively learn in a hands-on
environment the fundamentals of Computer and Networking Technologies in order to
meet the demands found in the fast growing industry of Information Technology
and Telecommunications. Introduction to Computer Programming, Visual Basic,
HTML, and Flash MX are included in the program, as well as an opportunity for
students to work at the Help Desk which is responsible for maintaining,
upgrading, and repairing over 300 computers and printers on our Local Area
Network (LAN).
The goals of this
program are to give students’ sufficient knowledge and skills to obtain an
entry-level position in the broad field of Information Technology and to provide
a solid foundation for our students wishing to further their education at the
college level.
The curriculum is
designed around the learning objectives for industry certification as well as
the Massachusetts VTE Frameworks. Our program also has articulated courses with
a number of local community colleges so students can earn college credit while
in high school.
