Automotive Technology

Instructors:  Mr. Chalifour and Mr. Levesque

Students will perform "hands on" repairs on actual vehicles. Students will learn to use the latest automotive shop tools and equipment available in the trade. Topics included in the course are: basic knowledge of automobiles, all phases of engine diagnostics and repair, lubrication and maintenance, cooling systems, heating and air conditioning, drive line, electrical systems, ignition systems, steering, suspension, tire care, and complete brake systems.

Today’s automobiles are equipped with on-board computers that control everything from the amount of fuel entering the engines to the comfort of the passengers. All Auto Tech courses include diagnostic and job evaluation. The Auto Tech courses at North Shore Tech have the latest in sophisticated equipment, such as the Hunter Four-Wheel Alignment System.

If this trade interests you, there are many exciting fields today in Automotive Technology. North Shore Tech offers you a good, basic understanding of these systems.

The NSTHS Automotive Technology Program is now AYES (Automotive Youth Educational Systems) certified.  This is a great improvement to the Automotive Program.  New and current technologies will be fostered.  View the AYES website at www.ayes.org for details.

Sophomores: Click here to log in to the Safety and Pollution Prevention (S/P2) Training Module.  Log in with the username and password that your teacher provided.
