Students will perform "hands on" repairs on actual
vehicles. Students will learn to use the latest automotive shop tools and equipment
available in the trade. Topics included in the course are: basic knowledge of automobiles,
all phases of engine diagnostics and repair, lubrication and maintenance, cooling systems,
heating and air conditioning, drive line, electrical systems, ignition systems, steering,
suspension, tire care, and complete brake systems.
Todays
automobiles are equipped with on-board computers that control everything from the amount
of fuel entering the engines to the comfort of the passengers. All Auto Tech courses
include diagnostic and job evaluation. The Auto Tech courses at North Shore Tech have the
latest in sophisticated equipment, such as the Hunter
Four-Wheel Alignment System.
If this trade
interests you, there are many exciting fields today in Automotive Technology. North Shore
Tech offers you a good, basic understanding of these systems.
The
NSTHS Automotive Technology Program
is now AYES (Automotive Youth
Educational Systems) certified. This is a great improvement
to the Automotive Program. New and current technologies will be
