Meta-search Engines

Print the following directions in order to proceed.

A Meta-search engine is a tool that combines the power of multiple search engines.  It searches several engines at the same time.  Dogpile is an example.

1.  Enter www.dogpile.com

2.  Click in the search text box, then type Belize annual rainfall.

3. You can choose how many seconds you are willing to wait.

4.  Click fetch.

5.  Examine your results.  Can you tell how many hits you got?  Can you find the same web site from your former search?  What do your results look like?  Do you think it is easier or more difficult to view these results?

6.  Try the same search with Ixquick or www.ask.com
They are also meta-search engines.
