Bulldog Pride
Bulldog pride is a motivational incentive
program which promises to increase student enrollment, decrease
discipline problems and create a better school atmosphere. This is
an incentive program which will help students to get to school, raise
their achievement and develop work related skills. The program
targets the following five (5) areas:
- ATTENDANCE-
Each quarter that a student has perfect attendance, and no tardies,
he/she will earn one entry slip. If a student has perfect
attendance and no tardies for the whole year, he/she will earn
eight entry slips.
- ACHIEVEMENT-
Each quarter that a student receives an "A" on his/her
report card, he/she will earn one entry slip.
- RECOGNITION-
Each staff member including teachers, secretaries, custodians,
cafeteria workers, bus drivers, and administration may submit the
names of two students per term. Each student will earn one
entry slip.
- EXTRACURRICULAR
ACTIVITIES- Each student who participates in an
after school activity will earn an entry slip. When the
activity is completed, the advisor or coach must authorize the
entry slip.
- COMMUNITY SERVICE-
Each student will receive one entry slip for a volunteer community
service. The service must be documented.
YEAR END PRIZES-
Prizes will be awarded during a total school assembly which will be
held in the gymnasium (date to be determined). The names of
student winners will be selected at random from rotary drum with all
entry slips enclosed. The names of winning entry slips will be
selected until all prizes have been awarded.
QUARTERLY PRIZES-
In
addition, prizes will be awarded quarterly. Student winners will
be selected in the same manner as year end prizes, however, winning
entry slips will be re-entered into the yearly rotary drum and be
eligible for the final drawing.
Bulldog Pride is developed after the incentive
program used by Monty Tech. The program design follows the idea
that students will learn more if they attend school on a regular
basis. Once we have our students in school, our job is to
motivate, teach skills and foster positive work habits. Students
will have the opportunity to receive incentive to reward outstanding
performance and encourage continued improvement.
