| ALL ABOUT US - OUR HISTORY | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|
Did you know that we had
our very first Sports Boosters meeting on April 29, 1996??? We use the format of "Roberts Rules Of Order" original 1876 edition for the meeting structure. Our very first officers were as follows; Dick Levesque -President Mary Wheeler -Vice President Joe Evans -Treasurer Paula Evans - Secretary |

|
We, the Boosters would really like to thank a
few great people that without their continued help & support through the
years the boosters would not be in the great shape we are in today! The
honor roll includes the following great people... John Lynch -NST Athletic Director Carol Sullivan -NST Marketing Coach Paul Worth Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!!! (If you know of someone who really deserves to be on this list please let the webmaster or president of the boosters know!) |

| Did you know... That the average all- sports banquet costs approximately $3000.00 to put on (we have about 4 of them in 1 year now). When the boosters were first started in 1996 that was their total goal for the entire year and it was to fund all the sports banquets, and varsity jackets! | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| The pupose of the club as outlined back in 1996 by Mr. Lynch was "to encourage parents, students, and friends to support the athletes and their programs". It also was "to support the programs by helping to raise funds for banquets and awards which can no longer be funded by the school budget" | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Did you know... The Football concession stand was finished by the masonry classes and the keys were finally turned over to the Boosters on October 12, 1999 for our use! | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Did you now that there was no sports at all when the North Shore VOKE was first started back around 1975 at the United Shoe (now called the "Cummings Center"), but gradually (around 1979) cross country was started and later baseball, softball, and soccer were added. Basketball started around the 1980-81 season and it was an outside sport as the Beverly gymnasium ceilings were too low. Football, girls baskeball, and volleyball didn't start until after we moved to Middleton. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| About May of 2003, Talks were started of merging the North Shore Technical High School with the Essex Agricultural High School and possibly the Peobody Technical HS. The Athletic directors of both the Aggie & NST (John Lynch & Peter Dolan) thought it was a great idea if they could start intergrating the athletic programs of these 2 great schools ahead of time. Separately these 2 schools were poor competitors especially against each other! After fully meshing the 2 schools sports programs, both schools have prospered so much in teamwork, spirit and championships /awards. Our All Sports Boosters club have also grown in ways that we have nevere imagined and we are loving it! | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| DID YOU KNOW... That the "February Booster Square Calendar" fundraiser was actually started on May 15, 2002 and that it requested each vocational teacher to provide a gift certificate in their field of study. Each day in February a raffle ticket is drawn and the winner is awarded a cash gift or certificate! This particular fundraiser has proven to to be a winner and is still in use today! | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
