Today is Day A-3

 

  • Thank you to all who have already sent in H1N1 consent forms.  If you did not receive one or if you  misplaced it,  you will find one on the web site. It must be returned by November 25th. We will be giving the vaccine on Tuesday, December 1st  here at school. Students who have brought in their consent forms will be getting the vaccine. Those who declined vaccination or who have not returned the consent forms will NOT be given the vaccine.  Click here if you need a new consent form.
     

  • The Poinsettia Fundraiser Sale is now in progress.  Remember to SELL, SELL, SELL!  Orders, with payment are due by November 30th to either Ms. Dawes or Mr. Newman.
     

  • Quarter 1 Report Cards have been mailed home to parents.  Congratulations to all students who had a successful first term!  Students who earned an F on their report card are required to attend the Homework Center three days – Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 2:40 to 3:30 p.m.  You may, if you wish, attend ONE morning session and two afternoon sessions rather than all three afternoon sessions.
     

  • The NSTHS Food Service Department is excited to provide parents a convenient, easy and secure online prepayment service to deposit money into your child's school meal account at any time.  This service will also provide you the opportunity to view your child's account balance through a website called MyNutrikids.com.  You will also be able to print out a copy of your child's eating history report.  If you would like to access these services you can begin today.  Simply go to http://www.mynutrikids.com  Click Sign Up and enter the required information which is your child's name and ID number and the school's zipcode (01949) provided in a letter that you received with your child's report card.  You may also add money to your child's account by sending a check in with your child made out to North Shore Technical High School and write your child's full name in the memo section of the check.  This check can be given to the cafeteria cashier between 8:45 and 9:45 am. 
     

  • We are pleased to provide you with an iParent account which will give you access  to view, via the Internet, your child’s school information, including biographical, attendance, discipline, schedule, assignments and grades.   Improved communication between parents, students and school staff is part of North Shore Tech’s effort to help all of us support your child’s education. A letter about this program, with your child's username and password was sent home with your report card.  The iParent Acceptable Use Policy is with that letter and is also on the school’s website located at http://www.nsths.mec.edu/iparent.pdf  .  By accessing iParent the parent/guardian and student are agreeing to adhere to the Acceptable Use guidelines.  An iPass Guide for Parents is posted on the website at http://www.nsths.mec.edu/iparentfaq.pdf  and may address any questions you have about using iParent.   • Let the Bottle Wars begin!  Now through November 24th each class will compete to fill a large water bottle with coins.  The class with the most money at the end will win the money in their bottle, plus 25% of the money in the other class’s bottles. 
     

  • The Honor Society, Community Service Club and Student Council will be conducting a canned food drive until Thanksgiving.  Collections will be made in homerooms each morning.  The homeroom who donates the most will win a pizza party.
     

  • The Homework Center will be in the library after school and continue with the following schedule:  Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, 7:15 to 7:45 a.m. and 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.
     

  • The Food Service Department would like all faculty, staff, student athletes and coaches to know that lunch will be available for purchase at regular cafeteria prices on Early Release Days this year, from 11:00 to 11:30 a.m., beginning  today.  Sandwiches, salads, soups, fresh fruit, yogurt, granola and select ala carte items will be available.  (Exception:  Holiday Early Release Days)
     

  • 3:45 p.m. late buses will run on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.
     

  • WIC, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program and SNAP, the Free and Reduced Breakfast and Lunch Program make it possible for children to have nutritious food, even in these difficult times.  The beginning of school is not the only time to sign up for these programs.  They are available any time of year.  Click here for more information.
